FTGA2025 is the 10th edition of a journey that started back in 2013 with just an email. By hitting the SEND EMAIL button after returning from a series of business trips from Frankfurt to London in search of funding opportunities for an early German wealthtech finance startup. The term fintech had been coined but was not widely known yet, certainly not in the finance towers in Frankfurt.

For the ninth consecutive year, Germany’s mostinnovative financial startups were celebrated at the Fintech Germany Award(FTGA). On Monday evening, the prestigious awards returned to Frankfurt amMain— where it all started —after three years, having previously been hostedtwice in Berlin and once in Stuttgart.Set beneath the striking archways of theKunstverein Familie Montez, located across from the European Central Bankheadquarters, this year’s ceremony honored a diverse range of outstandingfintechs. The Frankfurt-based startup Fincite took home the top prize in theEarly Stage category, while NAO, headquartered in Berlin, secured first placein the Seed Stage category.

Interested startups and scaleups of all funding stages now can apply here for Fintech Germany Award 2024. Applications close on 13th of June 2024 at 23.59h CEST sharp.‍The FTGA Jury will award startups in the categories seed stage, early stage, later stage, growth stage, most promising international startup in Germany. 

The 24-member, top-class jury kept their heads spinning for weeks and decided at a jury meeting which startups and scaleups would make the shortlist of all candidates. By way of comparison: the longlist published in the summer, on the other hand, includes all the participants in the Fintech Germany Award who have either applied and are "in scope" from the jury's point of view (i.e. meet the criteria for fintech/insurtech/regtech/AI etc.) or have been nominated by jury members.

For weeks, the jury categorized, analyzed and evaluated the 118 candidates for this year's Fintech Germany Awards, which initially resulted in the shortlist of 38 candidates, from which the winners were then chosen in a final jury session...
