FinTechGermany Award honors leading FinTech companies with the Golden Garage 2018
The “Golden Garage” was awarded for the fourth time on Thursday evening, June 14, 2018, at the FinTechGermany Award. Börsen-Zeitung, Business Angels FrankfurtRhineMain, Frankfurt Main Finance and TechFluence honored outstanding FinTech, InsurTech and PropTech companies in six different categories with the leading investor-side startup award.In the category “Seed- / Early Stage” Awamo convinced the jury, Optiopay in the category “Late Stage”. The best FinTech in the “Growth Stage” was awarded N26, Revolut as “Best foreign FinTech in the German market”. In addition, the special prize for the best “PropTech” went to Exporo. Element Insurance was honored in the special category “Insurtech”. The longlist, which consists of applications and jury nominations, comprised more than 150 companies.
“FinTechs are of enormous importance for Frankfurt as a financial center, so that the region remains attractive and economically viable in the long term,” says dr. Lutz Raettig, Spokesman of the Presidium of Frankfurt Main Finance.

he jury’s focus was on the affordability, scalability and exit ability of companies. She evaluated the business concept, competitive advantages, positioning, financial plan and management. Seed- / Early-Stage includes FinTechs who have no or no initial sales. For the category “late stage”, companies with a cumulative turnover in the at least six-digit range could apply. Significant sales of seven or more years and international expansion were prerequisites for an appreciation in the “Growth Stage” category. The special awards recognize significant sector sectors within FinTech, which are becoming increasingly important. In addition, the best foreign market participants will be honored.
